A Limerick on hating Sarah Palin on Facebook.

its-governor-palin-320x188In what seems like a double standard against conservatives, Facebook has not taken down a vile page depicting former Alaska governor and vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin holding a gun to her head while allowing users and “fans” to post messages on the page that wish for Palin’s death.

The social networking site has banned conservatives and conservative pages for lesser “offenses.”

The website Pundit Press, which monitors Facebook pages that target conservatives, found a Facebook page titled, “I hate it when I wake up and Sarah Palin is still alive.”

From Tony Lee at Breitbart News. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/01/31/Double-Standard-Facebook-Refuses-to-Shut-Down-Vile-Anti-Palin-Page

A gal from the forty-ninth state

made “liberals” bristle with hate.

She resigned from her post

to accomplish the most.

And now, she is Sarah the Great.

Groundhog Day and the State of the Union. A Limerick.

state-of-the-union_gi_topOnce upon a time Air America Radio pointed out:

Obamascrawny“It is an ironic juxtaposition of events: one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication while the other involves a groundhog.”

This gem was originally aired in 2007  but is much more àpropos today. Air America is now defunct, for obvious reasons, not related to this  quote. This year the state of the union speech will be given Feb 12, but seeing his vacation picture from Hawaii I could not help but make an observation:

Obama is looking a wee bit too scrawny.

Gone are the days when he seemed to be brawny.

He can’t cope with stress

So he works less and less.

Gets scared of his shadow, like Phil Punxsutawney

Obama the skeet-shooter? A Limerick.

obamaskeetAccording to Wes Pruden Skeet1President Obama hunts pigeons, not deer or ducks or even pigeons with feathers, but clay pigeons. He’s quite a marksman in a sport that attracts even the country-club elites. “Up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time,” he says. “ I have a profound respect for the traditions that trace back in this country for generations, and I think those who dismiss that out of hand make a big mistake.”

Skeet2Obama the skeet-shooter? Contemplate this.

Camp David agenda: miss after miss.

He is firing blanks

for which we say thanks.

The trademark for Barry; his aim is amiss.

“We haven’t begun to fight:” Sarah Palin after quitting Fox News.

In an interview with Breitbart news Jan.26, 2013 in answer to the question:

“The MSM have declared both you and the Tea Party dead and buried. Reaction?”

Sarah Palin said this:

“I was raised to never retreat and to pick battles wisely, and all in due season. When it comes to defending our republic, we haven’t begun to fight! But we delight in those who underestimate us. “

(The song is in Long Meter. Can be sung to for example “I heard the bells on Christmas day”. .. or as Long Meter Double in “Sweet hour of prayer”.)

“We have not yet begun to fight”

Our Palin is a true white knight.

In darkness she will shine the light

And fight for freedom with all mightSarahPhoenix

Our country is at crossroads now

The road we take will show us how

It’s life and good – when right you choose

Or death and evil – left we lose.

Deuteronomy 30:15 (KJV) See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil.

Free at last! Sarah Palin quits Fox News. A Limerick.

IneluctableA source close to Palin confirmed to Breitbart News that Palin declined FOX News’ offer to renew her contract, and the two parties seem to be parting amicably.

Bill Shine, an executive vice president at FOX News, said in a statement, “We have thoroughly enjoyed our association with Governor Palin. We wish her the best in her future endeavors.”

Sarah Palin is free from the Fox News charade.
Free to speak about life, and of all God has made.
For the Cross is the crux
when all else is in flux
It’s a spirit filled fight, she is sent to persuade.

Quotes from Cicero, true and false.

A friend showed me text message with the following quote:

The budget should be balanced, the treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. The mobs should be forced to work and not depend on government for subsistence. Marcus Tullius Cicero 55 B.C.

It looked suspiciously current, so I fact checked it on the internet, the wonderful invention where you not only have to check the facts, but also check the fact checkers and their sources and sponsors.

According to The Chicago Tribune (20 April 1971), John H. Collins, Professor of History at Northern Illinois University, reported that this attribution to Cicero, actually originated in A Pillar of Iron (1965), Taylor Caldwell’s fictionalized account of the life of the senator.

However, this is a true quote from Marcus Tullius Cicero in regard to the danger of internal subversion. In a speech to the Roman Senate, as recorded by Sallust, Cicero said:
“A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague.”

Shine over sea and land (Gläns över sjö och strand)

.

.

Shine over sea and land, star in the distance,

Born by the Lord’s command for man’s assistance

Bethlehem’s Star whose rays

Lead where our Savior stays.

Shepherds behold the sight

In the midwinter night

Of that deep guiding light

Star shining clear and bright.

Night over Bethlehem, night over Zion;

Over in Western rim sets the Orion.

Shepherds that watch their sheep;

Child in a dreamless sleep –

Wakes with a glorious

Chorus of voices

God’s host victorious

With us rejoices.

Obama mentions himself 63 times eulogizing Sen Daniel Inouye. A Limerick.

President Barack Obama used the funeral for Hawaii senator Daniel Inouye to talk about himself. In the short 1,600 word speech, Obama used the word “my” 21 times, “me” 12 times, and “I” 30 times.

Eulogize Inouye, one can ask: Why?

The praiseworthy words are but I, me and my.

There is none like Barack

On himself he looks back.

Narcissimus Maximus, he is not shy.
