Hillary Clinton rejects the Keystone XL pipeline. Warren Buffett endorses Hillary Clinton. Crony Capitalism at its best.

Hillary Clinton has decided against building the Keystone XL pipeline, thus satisfying the environmentalists that want to wean us off our dependency on carbon based products, such as fuel, food and fertilizer. The arguments for denying the decision are nearly exclusively political, while the arguments to build the pipeline are concerns for our national security and economy.

Here is the deal:

Canada has the tar-sands and is extracting the oil. This was not our decision. If we don’t buy the oil, China will.

We are importing crude oil from the Middle East (Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, etc.), Nigeria, Venezuela and other volatile places, leaving us exposed to supply and price disruptions.

We export refined products to the Caribbean islands, which by the way have a larger carbon footprint per person than the U.S. This is good business, since the islands are too small for a refinery.

It takes more energy to run a refinery up north in a cold climate than in hot, humid Baytown, Texas.

The last time a major oil refinery was built in the U.S was 1976. A small refinery was built in 1993, in Valdez, Alaska. The  US. regulatory climate is hostile to refineries. Colombia, O.K, U.S. No.

Warren Buffett bought Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad in February 2010 and paid 44 Billion dollars for it. The railroad paid Berkshire Hathaway 2.25 Billion in dividends during the first 13 months. Warren Buffet bought the railroad after President Obama took office.

Right now the crude oil is transported from the Athabasca tar sands to Houston mostly by Warren Buffet’s Burlington Northern Santa Fe LLC railroad. It is among U.S. and Canadian railroads that stand to benefit from Hillary Clinton’s decision to reject TransCanada Corp. (TRP)’s Keystone XL oil pipeline permit.
With modest expansion, railroads can handle all new oil produced in western Canada through 2030, according to an analysis of the Keystone proposal by the U.S. State Department.
https://lenbilen.com/2012/01/25/warren-buffet-profiting-from-working-on-the-railroad/
The cost of transporting the oil is about #14 dollars per barrel, much of it the cost of energy (CO2). The pipe-line can do the job for about seven dollars per barrel, much of it capital costs.
We can see what happens when transporting crude oil: https://lenbilen.com/2013/07/07/ttain-derailment-in-quebec-and-keystone-xl-pipeline-a-limerick/

Warren Buffet is a major player in the Obama Administration; he has frequent access to the White House and is a major contributor to Obama and the Democrats’ campaign. It is therefore in his self interest to endorse Hillary Clinton.

Sarah Palin succinctly coined the phrase: “This is Crony Capitalism.”

By not importing oil from Canada the total carbon footprint will increase. We lose, and Canada loses. (I am not concerned that the CO2 is increasing, but that a valuable natural resource is excessively depleted.) Now it turns out that Canada has left the Kyoto Protocol, thereby being free to burn as much of its carbon as they want. Was that really what the environmentalists wanted?

So why is Hillary Clinton against the Keystone XL pipeline? Here are seven possibilities:

1. Like Obama, Hillary is a true believer that ”this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal”. As a politically correct environmentalist her role can not be overestimated .

2. Hillary is deliberately wrecking our economy to create a more fair society of shared sacrifices, refuses to have an energy policy that will create jobs, but will support protest movements and foment unrest.

3. Hillary is acting on orders from Global Governance people that do want U.S. to be totally dependent on international law and U.N. mandates.

4. Hillary wants to show leadership in implementing the Paris Climate Conference 2015, and its associated treaty.

5. Hillary and Obama want to show leadership on something, like touting the “breakthrough” agreement with China, where China is allowed to emit six times as much CO2 by the year 2030 as the U.S.

6. The real reason? Like Obama, Hillary is fully bought and paid for. https://lenbilen.com/2014/02/14/the-real-reason-obama-wont-approve-the-keystone-xl-pipeline/

7. Hillary is half insane and surrounded by bad advisers.

This is the best I can do to explain the reasons for this decision.

A Limerick on the Clinton Foundation.

The Clinton Foundation: So seedy.

A mere ten percent for the needy.

What was Hillary’s take?

Not much left in her wake.

A slush fund for Clintons: That’s greedy.

Reading the Clinton Foundation’s website they claim 87.2 percent goes to program services, such as Clinton travel, Blumenthal running errands on behalf of Hillary in Libya, various young hang-ons spending foundation money, but very little goes to the really needy, such as in their Haiti initiative.

By the way, who was paying for Bill Clinton’s “chance” meeting with Loretta Lynch last Monday on the Phoenix Tarmac?

But there’s more. We learn that four senior Clinton aides — Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Michael Fuchs, Ambassador-At-Large Melanne Verveer, Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills, and Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin — were sending a lot of correspondence to the Clinton Foundation. The original tally of six thousand emails turned out to be low — very, very low. The State Department said the total has swelled to 34,116 potentially responsive documents.

“During Clinton’s four years as America’s chief foreign diplomat, her aides communicated with officials at the Clinton Foundation and Teneo Holdings where Bill Clinton was formerly both a client and paid consultant, on the average of  700 times each month, according to the Justice Department filing,” the Daily Caller reports.

One more verse to the Hillary Clinton Nursery Rhyme. Hillary the corrupt.

According to the Clinton Foundation’s website, the Clinton’s have received more than $85 million in donations from Islamic Gulf states and their monarchs. Following the money explains why and how much Hillary has been paid to lie about Islam.

And, these donations to the Clintons, The International Business Times, revealed, directly correlate U.S. State Department and federal government-approved contracts.

This adds one more verse to the Hillary Nursery rhyme

Hillary, Hillary, where have you been?

“It’s none of your business, for I am the queen.”

…… many more verses  ….

Hillary, Hillary, are you corrupt?

“As corrupt as they go. Go away, don’t disrupt!”

The whole nursery rhyme: https://lenbilen.com/2015/05/17/hillary-clinton-as-a-nursery-rhyme/

Hillary’s e-mail server. Enforcement Proceedings coming?

Attorneys with the U.S. Department of Justice say they cannot make public a classified FBI declaration because it would “adversely affect the ongoing investigation” into Hillary Clinton’s private email server. The recent filing by DOJ attorneys, obtained by LawNewz.com, is significant because it not only acknowledges the ongoing federal probe, but also asserts that if the declaration is made public, it could “reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings.”

The investigation focuses on two separate aspects: Having classified, top secret and even past top secret information on an unsecured, private server breaking the custody chain. On this her defense is that they were not “marked classified.” There are two possibilities: Either she knew they were classified at t the time but did it anyway, or, she is too stupid to recognize classified material when she sees it.

The other aspect concerns the Clinton Foundation and “Clinton money”.

The e-mail enforcement proceeding.

So what is now Hillary pleading?

I deserve all my cash,

it is all balderdash.

I’m clean, I’m immune, that’s my reading.”

Obama rejects the Keystone XL pipeline. A most deplorable decision for the economy and the environment, but good for Warren Buffett,

Nikki Haley did it again! Snagged the Volvo deal

Haley

Nikki Haley did it again! She had a meteoric rise in the South Carolina Legislature, and her big break came when Governor Mark Sanford had some extramarital incidents and then he and his (ex)wife endorsed her for Governor in 2010. Even with the Sanfords’ endorsements she was mired in fourth place in the polls. Then Governor Sarah Palin endorsed her and it propelled her to first place. She forced a run-off in the GOP primary, which she easily won, and after some planted stories from fellow Republicans Sarah Palin stood by her, and she became Governor, the youngest U.S Governor, female minority to boot. She has done a lot of things right for South Carolina since then, so she won re-election easily in 2014.

Her latest feat is snagging the Volvo assembly plant.

Gov. Nikki Haley and state Commerce officials made the bombshell revelation that Volvo Cars has decided to open its first U.S.-based plant in Berkeley County, bringing millions in investment and 4,000 jobs to the state by 2020

Haley  said the Charleston Port was a deciding factor in snagging the deal.

“And they wanted to see a state that was going to care about the business atmosphere, but more than that, a state that was going to have a relationship. Because they wanted to be made in America, and all credit goes to Volvo Cars for saying we want to make it in America. More importantly, we love that they’re now going to be made in South Carolina,” Haley said.

The $500 million facility at the Berkeley County timber plantation, which is nearly 40 miles northwest of port and export-rich Charleston. At full capacity, 100,000 cars will be built at the factory each year.

Haley credited the state’s workforce for helping land the automaker.

“They saw the fact that this is a state where they build planes,” Haley said. “We now have three car companies, we now have five tire companies. We have carbon fiber, we have TV. What they knew was if we build it, we build it well, we build it with quality, we build it with loyalty, and we build it with pride. And that’s something you can’t just find anywhere.”

Information on jobs at the plant can be found online. Or, if you’re a vendor interested in doing business with the plant, you can find that information on the Commerce Department’s website.

So, what is so good about the South Carolina Workforce? Besides being a right to work state, and a nearby good port in Charleston, what else is there?

South Carolina has a very good Technical College system with Workforce Training with readySC™,  providing well-trained employees to qualifying companies that invest in South Carolina. A comprehensive and customized process, readySC™ includes recruiting, screening and training, tailoring guidelines and curriculum to fit a company’s needs. This is not Crony Capitalism, just concern for a well trained and educated work force.

This is the future of manufacturing. Rather than concentrating of University education, the backbone of manufacturing is through Technical College, and even trade schools.

Good going, Nikki Haley and South Carolina!

Cost is more than doubled too. No, Sebelius, that won’t do.

But her attitude comes through: “I do not work for you”.

Crony-ism to the sky, Obama gave his reason why:

“No-one is more mad than I.” Wasn’t  that a true reply?

Train-wreck, train-wreck, I despair. Train-wrecked is Obama-scare.

Common sense was never there.  But Obama doesn’t care.
