Britain votes to exit EU. A Limerick on the teakettle revolt.

Item: EU bureaucrats hold off banning high power small appliances such as electric teakettles until just after the British referendum to stay in or leave EU.

With bureaucrats wisdom uncanning;

electrical teakettles banning.

T’was the last straw for Brits,

so they did call it quits.

End EU one world order planning?

Update. The results are in: After a long night of vote counting, the final results have been issued: 51.9% of voters chose to leave the EU, while 48.1% wanted to remain.

Tell Sarah to bring me iced tea.

Queen Hillary issued decree.

Sarah Palin replied:

“Yes maam, sure, Much obliged.

Let’s party like it’s 1773.”

Verse 32 of the Obama Impeachment song: “I found out through the news”

Maybe Obama never listens to anything people tell him?

Verse 32 of the Obama Impeachment song: “I found out through the news”

(as if sung by President Obama to the tune of “Please release me, let me go”.

Twenty years in Wright’s Church pews;

I never listened to his views.

Found out everything through news.

I”m hopeless, this is my best excuse.

(The complete Obama impeachment song: )

Some examples:

An Air Force One plane (not carrying the president at the time) made an unannounced pass over the Statue of Liberty on April 27, 2009, It turned out to be a White House-approved photo op, but panicked New Yorkers feared it might be some sort of terrorist attack. The next day, President Obama told reporters,

“It was something that, uh, we found out about, uh, along with all of you.”
On Fast and furious scandal:

“I heard on the news about this story, that, uh, Fast and Furious.”

For good measure, Attorney General Eric Holder—who had been sent regular briefings on Fast and Furious, a case approved by his criminal division—also said he was clueless about the case.

In May of 2013, a reporter asked the president: “When did you first learn that the IRS was targeting conservative political groups?”

Obama answered: “I first learned about it from the same news reports that I think most people learned about this. I think it was on Friday.”

When it became public that the Obama administration had secretly seized phone records of AP news reporters, the White House said President Obama hadn’t known about it.

Obama spokesman Jay Carney told reporters in May of 2013,

“We don’t have any independent knowledge of that, [President Obama] found out about the news reports uh yesterday on the road.”

President Obama said he had no idea his government was spying on foreign leaders as outlined in an Inspector’s General report—until it was leaked to the news. On Oct. 28, 2013 he said,

“I can assure you that I certainly did not know anything about the IG report before the IG report had been leaked through the press.”

In May of 2014, White House spokesman Carney said that the President was clueless about the waiting list scandal and coverup involving medical care for military veterans.

Carney told reporters, “You mean the specific allegations that I think were reported first by your news network out of Phoenix, I believe. We learned about them through the reports. I will double check if that is not the case. But that is when we learned about them and that is when I understand [V.A.] Secretary Shinseki learned about them, and he immediately took the action that he has taken.”

President Obama says he didn’t know about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email address and server for official business until the New York Times published it in a story. The president told CBS News’ Bill Plante that he found out “the same time everybody else learned it through news reports.”

Lois Lerner of IRS tax exempt division to take the fifth. A Limerick.

Lois_Lerner_IRS_C4PMs. Lerner is taking the fifth
She surely is losing her pith.
Since she lied through her teeth.
It gets hot underneath.
She’ll languish in anguish and writhe.

Background according to LA Times: WASHINGTON — A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the 5th Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups.

Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening — or why she didn’t disclose it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor III. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.

“She has not committed any crime or made any misrepresentation but under the circumstances she has no choice but to take this course,” said a letter by Taylor to committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Vista). The letter, sent Monday, was obtained Tuesday by the Los Angeles Times.

Taylor, a criminal defense attorney from the Washington firm Zuckerman Spaeder, said that the Department of Justice has launched a criminal investigation, and that the House committee has asked Lerner to explain why she provided “false or misleading information” to the committee four times last year.

Since Lerner won’t answer questions, Taylor asked that she be excused from appearing, saying that would “have no purpose other than to embarrass or burden her.” There was no immediate word whether the committee will grant her request.

IRS targets tea-party, prayer, respect for life for harassment. A Limerick.

The left gets exempt from a tax.
The right gets intrusive attacks.
Meet the new IRS.
They decide who to bless.
Let’s pray that the hacks get the axe.

Sarah Palin tweeted: “IRS Asks Iowa Pro-Life Group What They Pray About” …This is just surreal.

An excerpt from the IRS questionnaire
Please explain how all of your activities, including the prayer meetings held outside of Planned Parenthood, are considered educational as defined under 501(c)(3). Organizations exempt under 501(c)(3) may present opinions with scientific or medical facts. Please explain in detail the activities at these prayer meetings. Also, please provide the percentage of time your organizations spends on prayer groups as compared with the other activities of the organization.

A Cautionary tale from Washington Post backfires. A Limerick.

There are perils for today’s journalists. There is a special peril for journalists that suffer from PDS (Palin Derangement Syndrome).

A few days ago the Daily Currant ran a “newsflash” with the title

Sarah Palin to Join Al Jazeera as Host.”

The next few news flashes read:

Glenn Beck Calls 911 After Accidentally Eating Halal Pizza.

Vladimir Putin Kills Grizzly Bear With Bare Hands.

Catholic Church Considering Jerry Sandusky as Next Pope.

Obama to Declare America a ‘Socialist State’

This ought to have given anyone pause to think. Maybe these stories are satirical?

Nah, the Washington Post journalist Suzi Parker, famous for her book “Sex in the South: Unbuckling the Bible Belt.”, because of her PDS swallowed the story, hook line and sinker, and published the whole article eight days later as a result of her own research.

The editor, Melina Henneberger, also suffering from PDS didn’t bother to check the sources either, so it was published. in the on-line edition of the Washington Post.

The line that made them both fall for it was probably the quote “As you all know, I’m not a big fan of newspapers, journalists, news anchors and the liberal media in general,” Palin said. “But I met with the folks at Al-JaJizzraa (sic) and they told me they reach millions of devoutly religious people who don’t watch CBS or CNN. That tells me they don’t have a liberal bias.”

A few hours later somebody pointed out the error and got the following voice-mail reply from the Washington Post ombudsman:

“Hi, this is Patrick Pexton. I’m the ombudsman for the Washington Post. You called about the Sarah Palin mistaken story, um, yes, you are correct, that was based on a satiric website, ‘The Daily Current(sic).’ She totally missed that. Uh, shame on us. It was corrected within an hour or two later, uh, and a corrected version is online. That was a terrible mistake, I agree with you. It got through one editor, obviously the writer made the mistake and it got through one Post editor. So, shame on us–anyway–thanks for calling. Bye.”

The corrected retraction read as follows:

Sarah Palin tries to stay relevant

Posted by Suzi Parker on February 12, 2013 at 8:52 am

CORRECTION:  An earlier version of this post and the post’s URL incorrectly reported that Sarah Palin had signed on as a contributor to the Al Jazeera America news network. The blogger cited a report on the Daily Currant Web site as the basis for that information without realizing that the piece was satirical.

But the rest of the article derading Sarah Palin was left intact.

So, at that point Suzi Parker had already been given her two week notice and was no longer a journalist with Washington Post, but given her newfound role: Blogger.

PDS does funny things to people. I am still waiting for their official apology to Sarah Palin. In the mean-time:

Irrelevant people, unite!

The LSM Post gets our spite.

The Tea Party’s growing

A sentiment brewing:

Tell Washington Post, Fly a kite!

Sarah Palin in Madison, Wisconsin. The start of the 2012 campaign. A Limerick.

MADISON, Wis. — Sarah Palin defended Wisconsin’s governor at a tea party tax day rally Saturday Apr 16 2011, telling hundreds of supporters that his polarizing union rights law is designed to save public jobs.

Sarah Palin rallied the people in Madison

Shouted quite clearly “The battle is on”.

The rent-a-mob jeered

And the patriots cheered.

“It starts here, Obama, – Game on!”

The National debt. Can it be blamed on George W. Bush? Nancy Pelosi anyone?

“After years of historic deficits, this 110th Congress will commit itself to a higher standard: Pay as you go, no new deficit spending,” Nancy Pelosi said in her inaugural address from the speaker’s podium. “Our new America will provide unlimited opportunity for future generations, not burden them with mountains of debt.”

How well did she do, and is all of this the fault of George W. Bush?

Let us look at the numbers.

When Bush was sworn in on January 20, 2001, the national debt was $5,727,776,738,304.64. Dennis Hastert was the speaker of the house.

When Pelosi was sworn in on January 4, 2007, the national debt was $8,670,596,242,973.04.

When Bush left office on January 20, 2009, the national debt was $10,626,877,048,913.08.

When Pelosi left office on January 24, 2011, the national debt was $14,014,049,043,294.41.

The estimated  National debt Feb 12, 2012 is $15,368,215,367,669.46.

The average debt added per day during Bush/Hastert 2175 days was $1.353 billion

The average debt added per day during Bush/Pelosi 741 days was $ 2.640 billion

The average debt added per day during Obama/Pelosi 714 days was $ 4.744 billion.

The average debt added per day during Obama/Boehner so far is about 3.52 billion.

In short: Republican President and Republican house is horrendous. Republican President and Democrat house is horrendous times two. Democrat President and Democrat house is horrendous times three and a half. Democrat President and Republican house has failed so far to make a dent in the increase. I am pinning my hope on Sarah Palin and the Tea Party. So far she has not entered the race. If there is a brokered convention anything can happen.

Sarah Palin vetoed over 500 million dollars of legislation during her term as Governor of Alaska in a time of revenue surplus. Even with that she enjoyed an approval rating of over 80%, earning her the title “The most popular Governor in America”.

Obama and Sarah Palin on the same bus. A Limerick.

Our “post-racial” and “post-partisan”  president insists that Republicans sit in the back of the bus: “We don’t mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.” The Anointed One apparently went off teleprompter for a few unguarded moments.

The Limerick:

Republicans: Ride in the back of the bus.

So that’s how Obama would like to treat us.

But Sarah, she sparks,

She’s our Rosa Parks.

She’ll take over the bus and not cause any fuss.
