In “A Period of Consequences”. Obama’s actions. A Limerick.

obama-churchill“A Period of Consequences.” The phrase is taken from a speech in the House of Commons in late 1936 in which Winston Churchill warned: “The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays is coming to its close. In its place we are entering a period of consequences.”

The British economist and businessman Josiah Charles Stamp is said to have remarked, “It is easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.”

Our country: The consequence starts to attack it.
But Winston was right,
We must face the fight.

Obama State of the Union and Groundhog day, take six. A Limerick.

Obamascrawny

As Air America Radio once pointed out:

“It is an ironic juxtaposition of events: one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication while the other involves a groundhog.”

This gem was originally aired in 2007  but is much more àpropos today. Air America is now defunct, for obvious reasons, not related to this  quote. This year the State Of The Union message is a week early, but seeing his vacation picture I could not help but make some observations:

Obama is looking too scrawny;Phil Punxutawney

too chicken to face the Irani.

For he can’t cope with stress,

so he works less and less.

Gets scared of his shadow like Phil Punxutawney.

N.Y. Mayor De Blasio, groundhog killer, PETA man of the year demands respect. A Limerick.

He’s finished, in him stick a fork.

NEW YORK, Dec 18 (Reuters) – New York Mayor Bill de Blasio was named 2014 Person of the Year by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)

“When the mayor of New York City talks, the world pays attention and Mayor deBlasio’s kindness to animals and determination to protect them speak volumes,” PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said in a statement.

A week after N.Y.Mayor deBlsasio dropped Staten Island Chuck in front of a crowd of spectators on Feb. 2, 2014 the winter-weather prognosticator died of internal injuries — and then the coverup began, Staten Island Zoo officials went to great lengths to hide the death from the public — and keep secret the fact that “Chuck” was actually “Charlotte,” a female impostor, sources said.

The stand-in was found dead in her enclosure at the Staten Island Zoo on Feb. 9 — and a necropsy determined she died from “acute internal injuries,” sources said.

NYC Mayor de Blasio: Police were disrespectful to turn backs

Mayor Bill de Blasio, his administration threatened to be overwhelmed by a rift with rank-and-file New York Police Department officers, on Monday condemned the thousands of cops who turned their backs to him during a pair of funerals for slain police officers.

Unemployment number 5.6%. Good news? Not with 451000 dropping out of the labor force! A Limerick.

If you have been unemployed more than a year,

you count as “discouraged”, a case less severe.

Do not go ballistic

You are a statistic.

No more unemployed, but a discard. So there!

The Bureau of Labor  Statistics (BLS) nonfarm payroll employment rose by 252,000 in December, and the unemployment rate
declined to 5.6 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Job gains occurred in
professional and business services (52000), construction(48000), food services and drinking places(44000), health care(34000), and
manufacturing(17000).
The labor participation rate slid 0.2%, dropping to 62.7%, or the lowest print since December 1977.

LFP

Americans not in the labor forced soared by 451,000 in December, far outpacing the 111,000 jobs added according to the Household Survey, and is the primary reason why the number of uenmployed Americans dropped by 383,000.
Average wages dropped In December,  for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls by 5
cents to $24.57. In December, average hourly earnings of private-sector production and
nonsupervisory employees decreased by 6 cents to $20.68.

One cannot help but notice the discrepancy in the 252000 jobs added according to BLS, versus the 111000 jobs added according to the household survey.

With the lowest labor participation rate since 1977 (the Carter malaise) we are not in a real recovery, the real numbers are much worse.

ObamaCastroObama meets Raoul Castro at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service.

The State always knows best. “A choice we don’t want women to make”.

Obama is calling for 6  million new free daycare and pre-K places so they can better educate of the children.

This is the world of modern feminism, stay home mothers contribute nothing to society, only women that “work” do.

And they claim to be pro-choice!

Of all things Obama, now this takes the cake:

“A choice we don’t want any mother to make”.

EPA proposes to ban – Argon? Agency run amok.

EPA Proposes to Remove 72 Chemicals from Approved Pesticide Inert Ingredient List

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is requesting public comment on a proposal to remove 72 chemicals from its list of substances approved for use as inert ingredients in pesticide products.

“We are taking action to ensure that these ingredients are not added to any pesticide products unless they have been fully vetted by EPA,” said Jim Jones, Assistant Administrator for the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention. “This is the first major step in our strategy to reduce risks from pesticides containing potentially hazardous inert ingredients.”

So banning the safe use of Argon

is part of this agency’s jargon.

It’s the new EPA

run amok, on display

“Ban everything useful” – like carbon.

Here is a partial list of the 72 substances proposed for removal from the currently approved inert ingredient list.

EPA-argon-lisr

For the chemically challenged, Argon is an inert gas (it doesn’t react with anything), is the third most common gas in the atmosphere (0.93%), is heavily used in aluminum welding to prevent oxidation among other uses.

The Argon used in these processes is taken from the air and returned to it, so there is no excuse.
