Prayer breakfast before watching television at the Oval Office.

Every now and then there is a speech or a song that moves me to the core.

Besides numerous experiences during my youth, the first surprising memorable experience was Whitney Houston’s rendition of the National Anthem during the “Desert Storm”. She had never sang it like that before, nor did she again, but the Country was ready to hear it.

The second one was a documentary about Marian Anderson, about when she sang at the Lincoln Memorial. Such grace could only have come from deep conviction.

The third amazing performance came from Sarah Palin at the 2008 Republican convention. I had heard about her 80% approval rating in Alaska, how she had won and promptly put a bunch of corrupt politicians in jail, how she stood up to the oil companies, which no one had been able to do in over 30 years, how she negotiated the gas pipeline proposal that had been in limbo for 30 years, how she put the corporate jet on E-bay (the sale finally went thru a broker), put thru a major ethics reform, and that she was a Christian that walked the walk.

I heard the speech, and was still blown away. Such biting humor and delivery!

The fourth one from Dr. Benjamin Carson at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. last Thursday

See for yourself:

What was President Barack Obama’s response after the remarks?
“I do worry sometimes that as soon as we leave the prayer breakfast, everything we’ve been talking about the whole time at the prayer breakfast seems to be forgotten – on the same day as the prayer breakfast. You’d like to think that the shelf life wasn’t so short. I go back to the Oval Office, and I start watching the cable news networks, and it’s like we didn’t pray,” Obama said.
This is our President. Any speech that doesn’t idolize him and his ideology goes in one ear and out the other.

After this speech he planned to go back to the Oval office and…… watch television??

That explains a lot.

Obama went AWOL when the fateful Benghazi attacks occurred. A Limerick.

WASHINGTON – Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says President Obama was out of touch completely the night four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed in Benghazi, Libya.

In his testimony to Congress today, Panetta said that the operational details of the response, the decisions on what resources were available to help, and other decisions were left “up to us.”

Panetta, answering questions from Congress about the attack on the U.S., said except for a scheduled meeting with the president the day of the attack, Obama failed to communicate in any way with him that day.

Panetta said he simply didn’t hear from anyone at the White House. *

Obama went AWOL the night of Benghazi,

Did not order rescue, not even a posse.

So he went out of sight

In the dark of the night.

His care ends with actions that make him look snazzy.

The “no budget, no pay” limerick.

The administration is by law required to submit a budget the first Monday in February to congress for consideration. His last three budgets has failed to get even one Democrat vote. Is that the Republicans fault? In fact, Congress has not passed a budget in almost four years, only “spend as you go” with no checks and balances. That is how you can rack up six trillion in deficits in four years.

Obama is late with his budget.

He’s breaking the law, cannot fudge it.

The Republicans say:

“With no budget, no pay.”

That’s fair, so who can begrudge it?

Groundhog Day and the State of the Union. A Limerick.

state-of-the-union_gi_topOnce upon a time Air America Radio pointed out:

Obamascrawny“It is an ironic juxtaposition of events: one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication while the other involves a groundhog.”

This gem was originally aired in 2007  but is much more àpropos today. Air America is now defunct, for obvious reasons, not related to this  quote. This year the state of the union speech will be given Feb 12, but seeing his vacation picture from Hawaii I could not help but make an observation:

Obama is looking a wee bit too scrawny.

Gone are the days when he seemed to be brawny.

He can’t cope with stress

So he works less and less.

Gets scared of his shadow, like Phil Punxsutawney

“We haven’t begun to fight:” Sarah Palin after quitting Fox News.

In an interview with Breitbart news Jan.26, 2013 in answer to the question:

“The MSM have declared both you and the Tea Party dead and buried. Reaction?”

Sarah Palin said this:

“I was raised to never retreat and to pick battles wisely, and all in due season. When it comes to defending our republic, we haven’t begun to fight! But we delight in those who underestimate us. “

(The song is in Long Meter. Can be sung to for example “I heard the bells on Christmas day”. .. or as Long Meter Double in “Sweet hour of prayer”.)

“We have not yet begun to fight”

Our Palin is a true white knight.

In darkness she will shine the light

And fight for freedom with all mightSarahPhoenix

Our country is at crossroads now

The road we take will show us how

It’s life and good – when right you choose

Or death and evil – left we lose.

Deuteronomy 30:15 (KJV) See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil.

Free at last! Sarah Palin quits Fox News. A Limerick.

IneluctableA source close to Palin confirmed to Breitbart News that Palin declined FOX News’ offer to renew her contract, and the two parties seem to be parting amicably.

Bill Shine, an executive vice president at FOX News, said in a statement, “We have thoroughly enjoyed our association with Governor Palin. We wish her the best in her future endeavors.”

Sarah Palin is free from the Fox News charade.
Free to speak about life, and of all God has made.
For the Cross is the crux
when all else is in flux
It’s a spirit filled fight, she is sent to persuade.

Obama mentions himself 63 times eulogizing Sen Daniel Inouye. A Limerick.

President Barack Obama used the funeral for Hawaii senator Daniel Inouye to talk about himself. In the short 1,600 word speech, Obama used the word “my” 21 times, “me” 12 times, and “I” 30 times.

Eulogize Inouye, one can ask: Why?

The praiseworthy words are but I, me and my.

There is none like Barack

On himself he looks back.

Narcissimus Maximus, he is not shy.
