I have to confess, I am a news junkie.
Many years ago the Los Angeles police beat up Rodney King before a camera. No matter what channel I switched to I saw the same three second video clip. This continued for years until the trial, where the policemen were acquitted. Racial riots ensued. Rodney King himself lamented: “Can’t we all get along?”
When the U.S. Storm troopers did their successful Good Friday raid on Elian Gonzales to bring him back to Cuba after Bill Clinton had promised Fidel Castro he belonged with his father there was a photo of a boy scared out of his wits at the multitude of special forces attacking him, the media got enraged and showed it over and over again. But after about five hours the government told the press to stop. They obliged.

Which brings us to the Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman tragedy.
Trayvon Martin is black.
George Zimmerman is White, Hispanic and 1/8 Black.
The FBI conducted a thorough investigation and concluded it was not about race.
The prosecution said it was not about race.
The judge said it was not about race.
The jury said it was never about race.
The defense said it was never about race, and not about “Stand your ground” either
The defense waved the “Stand the ground” hearing.
After the trial was over some in the media finally admitted it was not about race.
One week later at an unscheduled appearance at the White House daily briefing President Obama used this opportunity to say it is all about race and “Stand the ground”, thus fanning the flames of racial tension. This is not right!
On CNN John McCain agreed with the President and the “Stand your ground” laws.
We need a discussion on violence in America, especially black on black violence, but also mob violence in general. The Zimmerman trial is the wrong catalyst. Take a good look at any weekend in Chicago instead, Mr. President!

On U.S. military intervention in Syria’s civil war, where “both sides are slaughtering each other as they scream over an arbitrary red line ‘Allahu akbar’ … I say let Allah sort it out.”

A black New York City pastor ripped into his congregation for seeing through hateful black eyes for condemning George Zimmerman and defending Trayvon Martin who he called “a pot-smoking munchies, paranoid 17-year-old boy.”
In a sermon recorded (the first video) the same day a jury of six women declared George Zimmerman not guilty in the death of Florida teen, Trayvon Martin, chief pastor at the ATLAH World Missionary Church in New York City, James David Manning, railed at his congregation for defending Trayvon Martin because he is black.

The data is very clear. In June 2013, 195000 jobs were added to the work force, 322000 of them involuntary part time jobs. The way I count means there was a loss of 127000 full time jobs, but then again I never accused anyone in the Obama administration of being able to do simple arithmetic.

Trayvon Martin and teachable moments. A Limerick
“If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon,” Obama said during a press gathering in the Rose Garden, after he was asked about the incident that sparked national debate after intense lobbying by the CRS (1).

(1) The legal watchdog Judicial Watch announced today that it has obtained documents revealing the Community Relations Service (CRS), a unit of the Department of Justice, was deployed to Sanford, Fla., following the death of Trayvon Martin to help organize rallies against George Zimmerman.
According to the documents, from March 25 to March 27, CRS spent $674.14 upon being “deployed to Sanford, Fla., to work marches, demonstrations, and rallies related to the shooting and death of an African-American teen by a neighborhood watch captain.”
Judicial Watch also revealed:
March 25 – 28, 2012, CRS spent $1,142.84 “in Sanford, FL to work marches, demonstrations, and rallies related to the shooting and death of an African-American teen by a neighborhood watch captain.”
March 30 – April 1, 2012, CRS spent $892.55 in Sanford, Fla., “to provide support for protest deployment in Florida.”
March 30 – April 1, 2012, CRS spent an additional $751.60 in Sanford, Fla., “to provide technical assistance to the City of Sanford, event organizers, and law enforcement agencies for the march and rally on March 31.”
April 3 – 12, 2012, CRS spent $1,307.40 in Sanford, Fla., “to provide technical assistance, conciliation, and onsite mediation during demonstrations planned in Sanford.”
April 11-12, 2012, CRS spent $552.35 in Sanford, Fla., “to provide technical assistance for the preparation of possible marches and rallies related to the fatal shooting of a 17 year old African American male.”
Go green like Spain? Obama’s dream. A Limerick.

Obama is bent on duplicating the success of Spain that went from 9% unemployment to 22% unemployment in one year when they went all out green. (It is now at 26%)
In testimony to the U.S. Congress, before the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming, Prof. Calzada presented highlights from a major study on the Spanish experience with “green jobs,”
including these sobering facts:
• For every 1 green job financed by Spanish taxpayers, 2.2 jobs were lost as an opportunity cost.
• Only 1 out of 10 green job contracts were in maintenance and operation of already installed plants, and most of the rest of the working positions are only sustainable in an expansive environment related to high subsidies.
• Since 2000, Spain has committed €571,138 ($753,778) per each “green job,”
• Those programs resulted in the destruction of nearly 110,500 jobs.
• Each “green” megawatt installed on average destroyed 5.39 jobs elsewhere in the economy, and in the case of solar photovoltaics, the number reaches 8.99 jobs per megawatt hour installed.
“Spain has already attempted to lead the world in a clean energy transformation,” Dr. Calzada told the congressmen. “But our research shows that Spain’s policies were economically destructive. When the president of a country with a relatively low unemployment rate like the US decides to learn how to create jobs from a country like Spain with the highest unemployment rate among developed countries, it should be in a field where that country has a demonstrable

CO2 is what makes life possible and is NOT a pollutant.
Thanks to the 14% increase in CO2 since 1970 we can now feed another billion people on earth. The planet is getting greener. (Click on the picture ) 20% are getting greener, only 3% drier.
This is especially true in areas where water is scarce. Photosynthesis works more efficiently with higher concentration of CO2 and uses less water to complete the chemical action.
Thunderstorms are regulating temperature in the tropics so it always has nearly the same average temperature, be it ice age or Roman warming period. The bulk of climate change is located around the poles and in areas of land use change.
Warmer temperatures are good “Minnesotans for global warming”. The polar bears love it. They are now five times as many polar bears as 70 years ago. The exception is in the dry belts around the 15 to 30 degree latitude, but this is also the area where the greening is the most pronounced.
James Lovelock, considered by many to be one of the “founding father” scientists of the environmentalist movement in the U.K. with his GAIA theory, has been unsparing in his criticism of wind power and his former global-warming alarmism, which he now says grossly exaggerated the non-crisis of climate change. Professor Fritz Vahrenholt, one of Germany’s most famous “greens” and a longtime AGW alarmist and champion of renewable energies, has likewise admitted to having been very, very wrong on these matters. Like Lovelock and many other leading scientists, Vahrenholt is calling for an end to the climate change hysteria and an end to the “green” lobby attacks on conventional fossil fuels.
The conclusion? Obama is living in the wrong universe. His policies will make things worse, not better. Now, if he means soot with his “Carbon pollution “, like they are spewing out of China.That is a matter for another discussion.
China is now burning 45% of all the coal burned in the world, most of it low grade coal, forming a soot cloud stretching far out in the Pacific, even reaching the arctic region, causing rapid ice melt during the summer, which non- scientists like Obama attribute to global warming.
