Isaiah 28. Woe to Ephraim and Jerusalem! “Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Isaiah 29 begins with a woe to David’s City, the people have “the spirit of slumber,” but the deaf will hear, the blind see and the meek shall increase the joy in the LORD.

1 Thessalonians 1. After the customary greetings the Apostle Paul gave thanks for the Thessalonians’ good example.”Ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God.”

Jeremiah 14. There was to come drought, sword, famine and pestilence. The people pleaded for mercy.

Jeremiah 15. More calamities awaited the people, for the LORD will not relent. The Prophet Jeremiah felt dejected, but the Lord reassured him.

Jeremiah 16 tells of the Day of Disaster and ends with the promise that God will restore Israel.
