Obama names GE CEO as head of new economic board From Michael O’Brien – 01/21/11 The top executive at one of America’s largest corporations is taking over as head of President Obama’s outside economic advisory council.

Obama named Jeffery Immelt, the chief executive officer of General Electric (GE), as chairman of the new Council on Jobs and Competitiveness. The president announced the appointment during a Friday trip to Schenectady, N.Y., where he  visited the birthplace of GE, the fourth-largest U.S. company, according to Fortune magazine.  Immelt replaces Paul Volcker, the former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, who will step down from his post as head of the Economic Recovery Advisory Board, an outside panel recommending solutions on how best to boost the economy. Immelt had previously served as a member of the board, which includes prominent business and labor leaders.

Appoint Jeffrey Immelt, Barry’s old protegé.

He will do to this land what he did for GE

Run it into the ground

On July 4, 1776 Congress appointed Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams ” to bring in device for a seal for the United States. “Franklin’s proposal adapted the biblicall story of the parting of the Red Sea. Jefferson first recommended the ” Children of Israel in the Wilderness”, lead by a Cloud by Day, and a Pillar of Fire by Night…..” He then embraced Franklin’s proposal and rewrote it. Jefferson’s revision of Franklin’s proposal was presented by the committee to Congress on August 20. Although not accepted these drafts reveal the religious temper of the Revolutionary period. *What does the name Nimrod mean? It comes from the Hebrew verb marad, meaning “rebel.” Adding an “n” before the “m” it becomes an infinitive construct, “Nimrod.”  The meaning then is “The Rebel.” Thus “Nimrod” may not be the character’s name at all. It is more likely a derisive term of a type, a representative, of a system that is epitomized in rebellion against the Creator, the one true God. Rebellion began soon after the Flood as civilizations were restored. At that time this type of person became very prominent. That lead to the Tower of Babel, and the rest is history. MLK day in Columbia, SC. George Washington boxed in by NAACP.

MLK Day in Columbia,, S.C. 2011 The annual MLK observance at the state house in Columbia SC had an interesting twist this year. The event is held on the north side steps of the statehouse. Prominent at that location is a large bronze statue of George Washington. This year, the NAACP constructed a “box” to conceal the Father of His Country from view so that participants would not be offended by his presence.

They shielded George Washington from public view.

Are our traditions now fully askew?

Would MLK say:

Put this father away?

Our nation must give him his honor anew.

Interviewer: You stirred up quite a controversy with your comments regarding Birthers and your plans to release more information regarding President Barack Obama’s birth certificate. How is that coming? Gov. Neil Abercrombie: I got a letter from someone the other day who was genuinely concerned about it; it is not all just political agenda. They were talking on Olelo last night about this; it has a political implication for 2012 that we simply cannot have. (Abercrombie said there is a recording of the birth in the State Archives and he wants to use that.) It was actually written I am told, this is what our investigation is showing, it actually exists in the archives, written down … …What I can do, and all I have ever said, is that I am going to see to it as governor that I can verify to anyone who is honest about it that this is the case. If there is a political agenda then there is nothing I can do about that, nor can the president.

Climate Change: A Homeland security matter. A Limerick.

Napolitano Says DHS to Begin Battling Climate Change as Homeland Security Issue.

– At an all-day White House conference on “environmental justice,” Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced that her department is creating a new task force to battle the effects of climate change on domestic security operations.

Speaking at the first White House Forum on Environmental Justice on Thursday, Napolitano discussed the initial findings of the department’s recently created “Climate Change and Adaptation Task Force.”

Napolitano explained that the task force was charged with “identifying and assessing the impact that climate change could have on the missions and operations of the Department of Homeland Security.” According to the former Arizona governor, the task force would address specific questions, including: “How will FEMA work with state and local partners to plan for increased flooding or wildfire or hurricane activity that is more serious than we’ve seen before? What assistance can the Coast Guard bring to bear to assist remote villages in, for example, Alaska which already have been negatively affected by changes up in the Arctic?”

The findings from the Homeland Security Department (DHS) also asked: “(H)ow can we focus on how climate change is going to affect our rural citizenry including those who live along our borders both northern and southern?” …

The conference did not define “environmental justice,” and the only reference to the task force that can be found is on the DHS Web site. The June 2010 Department of Homeland Security Strategic Sustainability Performance Plan states “climate change has the potential to accelerate and intensify extreme weather events which threaten the nation’s sustainability and security.”
