Today we read one chapter of Revelation and the first chapter of Malachi.

December 26: Revelation 17, Malachi 1 (click on the chapter to begin reading).

Revelation 17. So begins the fall of Babylon. It is not Rome, nor is it Roman Catholicism.  It is the coalition of communism, socialism, Islam and social justice Christianity in the form of Globalism implementing Global Governance. This isrepresented by the scarlet woman and the scarlet basket. The meaning of the woman and the basket is then explained in prophecy.

Malachi 1.  God loves Israel, but Israel responds with insincere and polluted offerings.

Today we read one chapter of Revelation and the last chapter of Zechariah

December 25: Revelation 16, Zechariah 14 (click on the chapter to begin reading).

Revelation 16 is the dreaded chapter of the bowl judgements. First Bowl: Loathsome Sores, Second Bowl: The Sea turns to Blood, Third Bowl: The Waters Turn to Blood, Fourth Bowl: Men are Scorched, Fifth Bowl: Darkness and Pain, Sixth Bowl: Euphrates dries up, Seventh Bowl: The Earth Shaken.

Zechariah 14 is the great chapter of the second coming of Christ, here presented as the Day of the LORD and the nations will worship the King.

Today we read one chapter of Revelation and two chapters of Zechariah

December 24: Revelation 15, Zechariah 12, Zechariah 13 (click on the chapter to begin reading).

Revelation 15. The seven angels are getting ready for the bowl judgements, but first there is praise and worship in heaven, and the temple is filled with the glory of God before the bowls are are poured out

Zechariah 12. The LORD issued an 0racle on the coming deliverance of Judah, then came this prophecy: “They shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son.

Zechariah 13. All the idols will be cut off, two thirds of the people will be scattered, but the remaining third will follow the Shepherd Savior.

December 22: Revelation 13, Zechariah 8, Zechariah 9 (click on the chapter to begin reading).

Revelation 13. It is getting really scary. The Apostle John saw

two beasts, the beast from the sea, and even worse, the beast from the earth. His number is 666!

Zechariah 8. The Lord promised to bless Jerusalem, the future Holy City.

Zechariah 9, an oracle: The LORD will defend Israel against all enemies, He promised ” thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Today we read one chapter of Revelation and three chapters of Zechariah

December 21: Revelation 12, Zechariah 5, Zechariah 6, Zechariah 7 (click on the chapter to begin reading).

Revelation 12. The vision is about the woman, the child and the dragon. Satan is thrown out of heaven and the woman is persecuted but protected by God.

Zechariah 5. There are more visions, this chapter has the vision of the flying scroll and the vision of the woman in a basket.

Zechariah 6. The chapter begins with the vision of the four chariots. Then the LORD told Zechariah to crown Joshua.

Zechariah 7. Obedience is better than fasting and disobedience ends in captivity.

Today we read one chapter of Revelation and one chapter of Zechariah

December 20: Revelation 11, Zechariah 4 (click on the chapter to begin reading).

Revelation 11 tells of the two witnesses, their power, death and resurrection. Then sounded the seventh trumpet and the Kingdom is proclaimed.

Zechariah 4 tells of two more visions, the vision of the lamp Stand and the vision of the olive trees. There is one great takeaway quote from this chapter: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

December 19, read through the Bible in a year.

Today we read one chapter of Revelation and three chapters of Zechariah

December 19: Revelation 10, Zechariah 1, Zechariah 2, Zechariah 3 (click on the chapter to begin reading).

Revelation 10 tells of the mighty angel and the little book. He announced there will be no more delay, and by the time of the seventh trumpet all will be set in motion. John is told to eat the little book, and then he is told to prophesy again.

Zechariah 1 begins with a call to return to the LORD. Then is presented two visions; the vision of the horses in which the LORD promises to comfort Zion, and then the vision of the horns.

Zechariah 2 presents the vision of the Measuring Line, and future joy of Zion, Jerusalem being a city without walls and the joy of many nations.

Zechariah 3 gives a vision of the high priest, cleansed of all his sins and given new robes. The LORD promises to send His servant, the Branch.

 

December 18, read through the Bible in a year.

Today we read one chapter of Revelation and the last chapter of Haggai.

December 18: Revelation 9, Haggai 2 (click on the chapter to begin reading).

Revelation 9.By now we are deep into the last half of the tribulation, the fifth trumpet sounded and the locusts from the bottomless pit are released. Then the sixth trumpet sounded, featuring the angels from the Euphrates doing horrendous deeds. An army of two hundred million mounted troops were released to kill a third of mankind. At the time of John the total world population was about 300 million!

Haggai 2 describes the coming glory of God’s house, but the people are defiled. Nevertheless God promises a  future blessing with Zerubbabel chosen like God’s signet ring.

December 17, read through the Bible in a year.

Today we read one chapter of Revelation, the last chapter of Zephaniah and the first chapter of Haggai.

December 17: Revelation 8, Zephaniah 3, Haggai 1 (click on the chapter to begin reading).

Revelation 8 describes the precursors to the great tribulation with the opening of the seventh seal and the sounding of the trumpets. It begins with an earthquake. First Trumpet: Vegetation Struck, Second Trumpet: The Seas Struck, Third Trumpet: The Waters Struck, Fourth Trumpet: The Heavens Struck. One ecological disaster after another.

Zephaniah 3. Jerusalem is full of wickedness but there remains a faithful Remnant and they will rejoice in God’s faithfulness, restoring His people.

Haggai 1 is about the right priorities. God had commanded the inhabitants of Jerusalem to rebuild His house.  When pointed out their wrongful ways the people obeyed.

December 16, read through the Bible in a year.

Today we read one chapter of Revelation and the first two chapters of Zephaniah.

December 16: Revelation 7, Zephaniah 1, Zephaniah 2 (click on the chapter to begin reading).

Revelation 7. the apostle John saw angels telling of the 144 thousand sealed of Israel, and then saw a multitude that came out of the Great Tribulation singing praises such as “Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

Zephaniah 1 is a prophecy of the Great Day of the LORD.

Zephaniah 2 is a call to repentance and a prophecy of judgment on many nations.
