It seems we prefer knowing good and evil over knowing God through holiness and obedience.
Yes we do. It started already in the garden of Eden, and that is why we need redemption. Only God can redeem us from ourselves and our constant desire to know good from evil by ourselves, apart from God. That is the reason Jesus came, died and rose again. We are to know him, and the power of his resurrection.
It’s constant! This morning on the road I sigh and groan and growl over ever little inconvenience. He puts them there to show me what I am. ‘He’s working in me to will and do his good pleasure.’
