Luke 20:20-47, continuing Holy Week, it is now Tuesday, Jesus was teaching in the Temple and his authority was questioned. Standing in Solomon’s colonnades the religious leaders tried to entrap Jesus so they asked him: “Is it legal to pay Taxes to Caesar?” You know the answer, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.” After that it was the Sadducee’s turn: What about the Resurrection? Jesus answered with scripture: “How can David call his descendant Lord?” Jesus finally warned the people: “Beware of the teachers of the Law.”

Proverbs 5 tells of the perils of adultery and does not mince words.

While still between the gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles we stay in the Old Testament reading one chapter pf Proverbs and four chapter of Judges.

Judges 15. Samson defeated the Philistines with the jawbone of an ass.

Judges 16 contains the vivid story of Samson and Delilah and how he finally was captured. In his death Samson slew many more than when he lived.

Judges 17 is short, contains only the telling of Micah’s Idolatry.

Judges 18, as the Danites had failed to take their allotted land from the Philistines they wandered around and finally settled in Laish and changed the name of the city to Dan, and there they still practiced idolatry.

Judges 16, the telling of Samson and Delilah and how he finally got captured. In his death Samson slew many more than when he lived.

Judges 17, the telling of Micah’s Idolatry.

Judges 18, as the Danites had failed to take their allotted land from the Philistines they wandered around and finally settled in Laish and renamed the city Dan. Micah’s idols leads to no good.
